My Abuela
Life is like deck of cards
Some of us are dealt lucky hands
While others are not so lucky…
My Abuela’s favorite thing to tell me
I see my Abuela fight all her life
Fought through cancer twice
Fought through many tropical storms
Fought through multiple car crashes
Fought through a few robberies
Fought through an abusive ex-husband who was an alcoholic
This woman is amazing with a history so long
So long that it would take time to write or say
She is strong still fighting to this day
I pray and hope God watches over her everyday
Hey Arturo, I really like how you talked about and described how your grandmother fought hard her whole life to survive. My Great Grandmother went through similar situations throughout her life. She ended up losing all 3 of her sons, and her husband, fought multiple cancers, and is still fighting. The fight seems to make them stronger.
ReplyDeleteHello Arturo, I find this piece extremely moving. The amount of troubles your grandmother went through seem terrible. I haven't went through nearly as much as that but I know life can be tough. I feel like the people who can come out of tough situations are the toughest of us all.
