JOURNAL TWO
My name is Nicolas Gottshall, I am currently a sophomore at The Ohio State University, Marion campus. I am currently studying aviation Aviation and plan to be a commercial airline pilot. My goal is to get piad to travel the world and see and do everything the world has to offer.
Through the fist 26 pages of The House on Mango Street, the chapter My Name stood out to me the most. The author tells us a story of how she recieved her name from her gret grandmother. She tells us of how wild her great grandmother was and her great grandpa grabbed her up and tied her down, married her. She says ,"she looked out the window her whole life, the way so many women sit their sadness on an elbow." I feel this applies to so many peoples lives. Everyone wants to live to life they saw in their dreams as a child. But, so often something comes along such as a child or finding the love of your life and everything slows down and we chose to accept the life the world has given us.
